Lei is a Research Scientist at Recombia Biosciences. Prior to joining Recombia, he was a synthetic biology lead scientist at Archer Daniels Midland working on engineering yeast for organic acid production. He obtained his PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo, where he worked on metabolic engineering of E. coli for production of natural products
